Question
Basically I want to know if it is possible to connect an amiga 500 to a modern TV and if so how? The amiga 500 I have has a scart plug into the back of the screen with the 2 av plugs for the sound, my TV has av's, S video and component sockets. Any help be appreciated

Answer
Hi Hamish,

It might be possible, but I would be sure to use an A520 TV/RF modulator (link with photos below) from the Amiga to whichever connector on the TV is compatible--unfortunately, I don't know of any way to connect a TV via the SCART connector.

The difficulty comes in the fact that you're trying to connect a very old (mid-80s) device to a high-definition device almost twenty years later.

The A520 should be available for sale on eBay.com (should be one near you if you're from Europe); just search for "A520" and "Amiga" to quickly locate one for sale.

In any case, I hope this helps!

I certainly don't know everything about the Amiga, but having been a user of several different models for about fifteen years, I'm willing to share what I know.
