Question
Hi, i think my 600 disk drive is broken and was given a 500, do you reckon an Amiga 600 can use an Amiga 500 drive?

cheers

Answer
Hi Amy,

While I can't say I know for sure (seeing as I've never tried it), I suspect that the Amiga 500 and Amiga 600 internal floppy disk drive mounting hardware would be different, so you would need a floppy disk drive specifically for the Amiga 500.

You should be able to find a new or at least good used replacement floppy drive from one of the following places:

amigakit.com, ebay.com (just search for "Amiga 500 internal disk drive") or softhut.com.

I hope this helps!

I certainly don't know everything about the Amiga, but having been a user of several different models for about fifteen years, I'm willing to share what I know.
