Answer
Hi Shaun,

You've referred to Workbench 2.5, but I assume you mean 2.05 (which came bundled with the Amiga 600).

The only way I know of getting files to an Amiga without using diskettes is via a null modem cable (http://www.amigaforever.com/kb/13-105) connected to a PC, and file transfer software on both systems, such as "Term" on the Amiga. Again though, this assumes you already have the needed software on your Amiga.

If you don't already have any file transfer software for your Amiga, the cheapest means of getting the files on your system would unfortunately be to buy a copy of either CrossDOS or Workbench 2.1 (which comes with CrossDOS).

One of the following websites, such as Software Hut (www.softhut.com if you're in the USA) or AmigaKit (www.amigakit.com if you're in Europe) or perhaps also eBay.com should be able to help you out. Also, you may be able to find an Amiga owner on UseNet's comp.sys.amiga.misc and comp.sys.amiga.hardware newsgroups who would be willing to send you a copy of the software you're needing:

http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.amiga.misc?lnk=gschg

http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.amiga.hardware?lnk=gschg

I hope this helps!

Greg
