Question
QUESTION: Dear friend i recently bought an amiga from ebay and a strange thing happen boots amiga kick 1.3 disk image loads workbench 1.3 but on games when it comes to enter the game screen goes mad like if caught a virus a changed all the chips from other board i have and nothing maybe some resistors or capacitors although capacitors look good i think it heats a little the chips when amiga is on any ideas

ANSWER: Hi Jose,

If Workbench is booting fine, and the game is crashing, then either the game is not compatible with your Amiga 500, or the game diskette itself may be corrupt. I would suspect that the game itself is not compatible with your Amiga 500. What is the game name and company that made it?

I hope this helps!

QUESTION: no it is not a disk problem because it runs on my other amiga one thing i notice is that if i add a ram card doesn´apear the extra ram and is the rev 5 i saw some google pictures and appers one resistor conectiong to the odd cia and mine doesn´t have that one could it be that and what is the value of that resistor and what does it make on the circuit??is it relevant many thanks

Answer
Hi Jose,

It sounds like a more serious hardware problem if you suspect missing hardware and a faulty RAM card. I would consider weighing the cost of having your Amiga 500 checked by a tech by one of the following dealers (depending on where you live) versus possibly buying a new system. The dealers below should be able to give you an estimate on costs to repair and replacement systems:

* AmigaKit (www.amigakit.com)
* AmiBay (www.amibay.com)
* Software Hut (www.softhut.com)
* eBay (www.eBay.com)

I hope this helps!
