Question
Hello,

I have an rev.1D.4 Amiga 1200.7 years ago I've built an VGA adapter cable, which I have miswired (in mirror-image) thus damaging the A1200 and having this problem since.

I'll try to describe:

The mouse pointer sprite is out of V-sync (jumps and gables the sprite display when moving to Y axes),Screens are displayed correctly, games run, but some with garbled/flaky sprites (vector gfx - OK).Some games does not bring up the garbled sprites - some do!

What is it? (Sometimes blue blink is shown upon booting, but not always)

Answer
Hi Marko,

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as you may have suspected, rewiring your VGA adapter cable was not a good idea, and I suspect this is the cause of the problems you're seeing. The bad news is that there's no way of fixing the problem you're encountering other than buying a new Amiga 1200 motherboard. There are too many soldered chips and devices on the motherboard to replace or even troubleshoot.

You should be able to find a replacement board from one of the following stores:

http://www.centsible.com

http://www.softhut.com

You may also find a used Amiga 1200 system or motherboard on http://www.ebay.com

I hope this helps!

I certainly don't know everything about the Amiga, but having been a user of several different models for about fifteen years, I'm willing to share what I know.
