Question
hello i have a Amiga 500 that wont boot up. Any disk i insert (whether its a game or a workbench disk) its shows the workbench hand screen. Even games which don't need the kickstart still shows the screen and it stays there. Does anyone know whats wrong here?

Answer
Hi Jon,

From what you've described, it sounds like the internal floppy drive is not working correctly. You can buy and use an external floppy drive to boot from and play games with (which simply connects in the back of the Amiga) or you could contact a store such as Software Hut (www.softhut.com) or AmigaKit (www.amigakit.com) if you're in the United Kingdom for a replacement internal drive (and/or have them replace it for you, but shipping & labor will be expensive). Another place to look for used Amiga parts is eBay (www.ebay.com).

I hope this helps!
