QuestionDear Sir/Madam,
This weekend at my parents home i saw my old amiga 500 computer. Mom told me she was thinking about throwing the computer out. Since ive had so much fun with the thing i couldnt let that happen. My two year old daughter loves the games on the 1 mb amiga 500 (i remember having it upgraded).
I have so many questions since im starting to understand the wonderfull capabilities the machine had.
Are there any forums i can visit to try and understand what i can do with this old machine.
i have some games
and only one disk with workbench version 1.3.3 on it.
I cant seem to get any files from my pc to a bootable amiga disk so i cant get much further on my own. Do you have tips on websites i can visit.
Thanks Robin
AnswerHi Robin,
The most practical way to transfer data from PC to an old Amiga 500 is via a double-density 3.5" 720K diskette (which are hard to find.) You may not know that the PC uses a different kind of data storage method than the Amiga, so you can't copy files from a PC disk to an Amiga disk without special software on the Amiga. What kind of data are you wanting to transfer?
The following link will take you to a series of Amiga-specific forums that may be helpful to you:
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.sys.amiga.misc
The people on these forums are quite knowledgeable, and should be able to answer most (if not all) of the questions regarding your transfer of files.
I hope this helps!
