I have purchased a new floppy drive, this has the same problem

My 1200 reads all the disks fine as long as they are in df0

could the problem be the floppy drive controller?

Hi Brian,

If your 1200's internal drive reads all the disks fine, then simply use it to install AmigaOS 3.0. You do not need multiple floppy drives to install OS 3.0; just insert the correct disk when you are prompted for it during the install process.
