Question
Dug out my A1000.. I get nothing but a steady red light.. Nothing on the screen, and no read of a kickstart disk..
Question.. Would I still get a red light if my power supply was bad.. Any other guess what might be wrong?

Thanks

Answer
Hi David,

I doubt your power supply is bad, as you wouldn't likely get a the red LED lighting up; I tend to think either your Kickstart disk is bad, or your floppy drive is bad (more likely your floppy drive itself is...)

If you have access to an external floppy drive, you could try putting your Kickstart disk in there, and see if your system boots with it. If you don't have an external floppy drive, you can buy them pretty easily/cheaply from eBay.com; just search for "Amiga" and you should be able to find one easily in there.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other problems or questions.

Regards,

Greg
