Amiga Problems/Disk problems

Question
Hi

I've just bought an Amiga 500 and a game. When I put the game in nothing happens. The screen just remains the same, the hand holding the disk. No sound appear. Nothing.

Thanks.
Tue.

Answer
Hi Tue,

From what you've described, the problem sounds like it's the disk drive itself, especially if the disk drive doesn't make an attempt to read the disk (i.e. the disk light should blink, and you should hear some activity as it tries to read the disk). There should be replacement internal Amiga 500 disk drives available from Software Hut (www.softhut.com) or eBay (www.ebay.com). Another solution is to buy an external 3.5" disk drive from either of these sources, which you could plug into the external disk drive connector in the back of the Amiga 500.

I hope this helps!

I certainly don't know everything about the Amiga, but having been a user of several different models for about fifteen years, I'm willing to share what I know.
