Question
Greg does a commodore 2002 monitor use ram when connected to an amiga. Does any monitor have anything to do with using memory from the computer?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Larry,

The monitor itself (whether the Commodore 2002 or any monitor model) doesn't use any RAM, but the screen modes displayed through the monitor by the Amiga do use CHIP RAM (RAM only used by the Amiga's video co-processor "Agnes"). The early Amiga models had 512K of CHIP RAM for this purpose, and some of the later models had 1MB, with the Amiga 3000 and later having 2MB available.

I hope this helps!

Greg

I certainly don't know everything about the Amiga, but having been a user of several different models for about fifteen years, I'm willing to share what I know.
