Question
i have a fire bellied newt that seems to have puffed up to an abnormal size.do you have any idea why this is. i have had it for about 1 year and it seemed to be doing fine till now

Answer
Often times, a swelling or a bloating can be a symptom of an illness. Your best bet would be to either take it to, or call your vet. They might be able to tell you if there is something medically wrong with it. I am not a vet, I cannot diagnose problems. I would however try perhaps changing the food that you are feeding it, and try keeping the cage super clean. Hopefully this will help you out.
