Question
In reading about the ancient Greeks. Persians and Romans, we constantly hear of armies that are huge such a seveal hundreds of thousands of men. The numbers seem incredable the logistics involving such numbers would, seem to me to be next to impossible.
Do you know have any of these battle sites been excavated and evidence established that these numbers are even close.

Answer
Hello,

Actually this question is very broad as it covers all the great battles of antiquity from the Persians and ancient Greeks to the Romans.

Therefore it’s impossible to give you an exhaustive, thorough, complete answer.

Maybe you should ask an expert in Military History at http://www.allexperts.com/el/Military-History
