Question
My question is this, what are the physical dimensions of the fresco from the house of Meleager in Pompeii named "Foresaken Dido"  It is now housed in the naples national museum but for the life of me I cannot find that data any where on the web.  Help!!

Answer
Hello,

here are the physical dimensions of the fresco from the House of Meleager in Pompeii named "Forsaken Dido”, now in Naples Archaeological Museum:

height: cm.108
width:  cm.128

Such a Pompeii fresco, which dates back to ca. 69—79 AD,  was found in 1829 in room 2, atrium, House of Meleager, and  portrays the abandoned Dido, the queen of Carthage,  who is seated on her throne bewailing the departure of Aeneas who sails away on his ship in prelude to the tragic epilogue of Dido’s suicide.

Best regards,

Maria
