Ancient/Classical History/Concrete Morals?

Question
I was having an argument with someone about whether morality is relative and thus, there aren't any moral constants. Or that there is a certain set of morals that are without exception always held to. He argued that the repulsion and hesitancy to murder has always been a moral just who to murder is what differs. I was wondering if there are any societies in which murder was not considered to be a problem and, whether there have been any morals that have always existed.
Thanks a lot,
Avi
