Ancient/Classical History/Hellenistic greek history

QuestionDear Mrs. Maria,
My name is Alexandru Moraru and I am a third year student at the History Faculty at the "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
I've seen your address at Ask the Expert and it came to my mind that you could answer me a question: do you know any Internet sources where one can find detailed resources regarding Hellenistic history?
My graduation project, at the end of year four, deals with the cultural and religious history of the Hellenistic Orient in generall and Ptolemaic Egypt in special. The project would have the title: "Spiritual interferences in Hellenistic Egypt and Levant", although it is not definitively set.
That is why I searched the Internet but with no success in finding some interesting and detailed pages regarding hellenistic history.
I found on the Internet a good page
http://www.houseofptolemy.org/ but with not so complete links, and I found at Amazon.com for sale Peter Frazer's book, "Ptolemaic Alexandria", but that is all.
So, if you know interesting Internet sites and good book titles linked to hellenistic cultural, spiritual and religious history, regarding Hellenistic Orient and Ptolemaic Egypt, I would be very grateful if you could send me an e-mail with them, or let me know where you post your answers.
Respectfully,
Alexandru Moraru.
AnswerHello Alexandru,
I’m sorry, but I’m afraid I cannot help you as there are not so many Internet sites that focus on Hellenistic Egypt cultural, spiritual and religious history.
Anyway here are some suggestions that I hope can be helpful to you.
Good luck!
Maria
