Question
I am trying to translate a sentence and I am a bit stuck... it goes as follows "Aeneas, Ilio Achivis prodito ab Antenore aliisque principibus, deos penates patremwue Anchisam umeris gestans et parvulum filium manu trahens, noctu ab urbe excessit."

I have "When Troy had been betrayed to the Greks by Antenore, who had been chief, and the others, the household gods and..."

If you could let me know what the translation is (and if what I have so far is correct) I would greatly appreciate it.

Answer
Hello,

Unfortunately your attempt to translate is unfinished and partly wrong.
Anyway here’s the correct translation of  "Aeneas, Ilio Achivis prodito ab Antenore aliisque principibus, deos penates patremque Anchisam umeris gestans et parvulum filium manu trahens, noctu ab urbe excessit":

"When Troy had been betrayed to the Greks by Antenore and other chiefs, Aeneas went out of the city by night, carrying the household gods and his father Anchises on his back, while he was holding his little child by the hand.”

Have a nice day,
Maria
