Question
Can you please translate these phrases to Latin:
Through pain comes strength
In time, the pain will give way to strength

Thanks

Answer
Hello,

You can say:

-“ Ex dolore fortitudo” or “Per dolorem fortitudo” (Through pain comes strength).

-“ Procedente tempore, fortitudinem dolor feret” (In time, the pain will give way to strength)

See below for grammatical analysis

Best regards,
Maria
______________________________________
-Through = EX (preposition which takes the ablative) or PER (preposition which takes the accusative)

-pain = DOLORE (ablative of DOLOR, 3rd.declension) or DOLOREM (accusative)

-comes = in Latin is omitted as unnecessary.

-strength = FORTITUDO (subject in the nominative, 3rd.declension)

_____________________________
-In time = PROCEDENTE TEMPORE (ablative absolute)

-the pain = DOLOR (nominative, 3rd.declension)

-will give way to = FERET (future of FERO)

-strength = FORTITUDINEM (direct object, accusative of FORTITUDO)

Latin word order can be different from English, as you can see.
