Question
Need translation of: Ex his una nocte decem inivi; omnes tamen, quod in me erat, mulieres intra dies quindecim reddidi.

Answer
Hello,

this Latin phrase attributed to Proculus, a Roman usurper who took the  purple against Emperor Probus in 280 AD and died the following year, is probably fictitious.

Anyway it seems that Proculus, as we read in Edward Gibbon's  "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" when this historian tells of a  series of skirmishes and minor wars between the Sarmatians and Roman legions, had taken one hundred Sarmatian virgins and had written to his kinsman Maecianus this haughty scornful phrase:
“Out of these virgins, in one night I entered ten; thanks to  my ability, I was however able  to return all the women within fifteen days”.[Ex his una nocte decem inivi; omnes tamen, quod in me erat, mulieres intra dies quindecim reddidi].

Best,
Maria
