Question
you have indicated this translation  was based on a 1962 school teaching.                i am trying to make a family seal carved in stone .would the letters as used in "victori spolia" be the same ones as used for the last 300 years.as Iknow the old english for s&f were not the same.Thank you in advance for letting me know that the latin letters were all the same. Best regards Barry.

Answer
Hello,

Be sure that  the letters used in my translation "victori spolia" ('To the victor, the spoils' ) are just the same ones used in Latin languages as from the 3rd.century B.C. at least, when Latin literature began.

In fact Latin alphabet, we use still today in English too, did not change ever beginning from the 3rd.century B.C.

Best regards,
Maria
