Question
Maria, hi!
I am starting ub a boutique investmen/consulting firm, specializing in strategy and new business development, as well as consulting, mergers and acquisitions and private equity / venture capital. I would like to use a lating word or phrase that would capture the spririt of our venture. On one part: trasnform, generate, create, focus. On the other part part: vision, value (economic value), values, success. Putting them together, we could think of messages like: (a) Creating Value; (b) Succesful Trasnformations; (c) Vision with Values; (c) Focus on Value, etc. This question might require some creativity, but in the end, language knowledeg, especially latin, can overcome that. As an example, there is a company named "Permira", which I understand means "very wonderful".
Thanks in advance for your help. All the best,

Answer
Hello,

Sorry, but none of  the company names you mention, i.e. (a) Creating Value; (b) Successful Transformations; (c) Vision with Values; (c) Focus on Value, can have an appropriate  translation into Latin where such brands would make no sense at all.

As for “Permira”, it is the superlative feminine of the adjective “mirus” ( wonderful).

In short, the only one Latin word which can be fit to your company could be “Successus” meaning exactly “good result”,“success”, “successfulness”, just in the sense of “the achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted”.

Any other Latin translation would sound ridiculous!!

Best regards,
Maria

Note that SUCCESSUS is the nominative singular/plural of a noun which belongs to the 4th.declension in Latin.

Therefore SUCCESSUS can mean either “good results” or “good result” in every sense, of course.
