Ancient Languages - motto translation

Question
can you translate the Redmond family motto?

"Pie vivere et deum et patrium ditisere"

Answer
Hello,

the Latin motto “Pie vivere et Deum et Patriam diligere”(not "patrium ditisere") means exactly :

“To live piously and (to) love God and Country”.

Have a nice day,
Maria
______________________________________

GRAMMATICAL ANALYSIS

-Pie (adverb) = piously

-vivere (infinitive of VIVO, I live) = to live

-et =and

-Deum (accusative of DEUS) = God

-Patriam (accusative of PATRIA) = Country

-Diligere(infinitive of DILIGO, I love)= to love

As you can see, Latin word order can be different from English simply because in Latin syntactical relationships are indicated by the inflexional endings, not by the order of the words.
