Dear Maria,

I have developed a 2,000 word glossary / grammar on the Etruscan language with Declension tables showing a marked likeness to Latin and Italian and French. We know the names of Etruscan gods from engravings on Etruscan mirrors, and from those names we have declension patterns that resemble Latin. The 2,000 words in the glossary reduce from texts containing over 6,000 words. My question is this: If linguistics is a scientific discipline, shouldn't linguists verify / disprove the work at Etruscan Phrases: http://www.maravot.com/Etruscan_Phrases_a.html

Searching since 1998 for responsible linguists interested in the origins of Italian and the Indo-European languages.

Answer
Hello,

First of all I congratulate you on having done such an exacting work of research on Etruscan language, as I’ve read at http://www.maravot.com/Etruscan_Phrases_a.html

I have to tell you however that I am an expert in Latin & Ancient Greek Language as well as in Italian, which is my mother tongue, but I am not a glottologist nor an Etruscologist and thus I’m afraid  I cannot help you with your question.

If only I had some expertise in linguistics, I‘d certainly verify  your work at Etruscan Phrases and the grammatical characteristics of the Etruscan language.

Unfortunately however I cannot help you as this is not my area of expertise and therefore I do not want to venture on a field I do not know enough.

Best wishes,
Maria
