Question
Hi,

I'd like the Latin translation for "That is not a knife" or
"Not a knife" if that's easier.

Also, please confirm that "Deus Belli" is the correct
translation for "God of War".

Thanks!

Answer
Hello,

“Deus Belli” is correct, if it is used as a subject of a sentence like in “The god (“deus”, in the nominative singular) of war (“belli” in the genitive singular of “bellum” meaning “war”) was called Ares”.

As for “That is not a knife” or "Not a knife", please tell me the context where this expression should be used.

Otherwise I don’t want to translate such a strange phrase.

Bye,
Maria
