Question
Hi!
I am just wondering if you can tell me what the proper Latin translation for second to none (for a female) is because I am finding a few different things and I am also wondering about some sources i can check for reliable Latin translations?

Thanks!
Melanie

Answer
Hello,

the proper Latin translation for “Second to none” (for a female) where "none" is used just in the sense of “anyone else/ nobody”   is  the following:

-“Nulli secunda”.

Note that NULLI (dative of the pronoun NULLUS/ NEMO ) means “to none/nobody”, while SECUNDA (nominative feminine of the adjective SECUNDUS) means “second” related to a female person.

If on the contrary in “Second to none” the term "none" is used in the sense of “everything else”, it translates as follows:

-“Nulli rei secunda” where NULLI REI (literally, “nothing”) means “to none”, while SECUNDA (nominative feminine of SECUNDUS) means “second” related to a female person.

As for some sources you can check for reliable Latin translations, I’m sorry, but automatic online translators are absolutely

Have a nice day,
