Question
Request to translate to old Latin:
-Faith
-Hope
-Charity
-Fortitude
-Justice
-Prudence
-Temperance

Answer
Hello,

here are the Latin translation of the Seven Cardinal Virtues:

-Fides (Faith)
-Spes (Hope)
-Caritas (Charity)
-Fortitudo (Fortitude)
-Iustitia  (Justice)
-Prudentia (Prudence)
-Temperantia (Temperance)

All the above feminine nouns are in the nominative case, i.e. the case of the subject of a sentence.

They belong to different declensions which in Latin are five.

So, FIDES (faith) and SPES (hope) belong to the 5th.declension; CARITAS (charity) and FORTITUDO (fortitude) belong to the 3rd.declension, while IUSTITIA (justice) PRUDENTIA (prudence) and TEMPERANTIA (temperance)  belong to the 1st.declension.

Note that Latin is an inflected language where there are six cases:nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, vocative, ablative, since  each noun changes its ending, according to its role in the phrase.

Best regards,
Maria
