Question
hello and thank you in advance,

i was wondering if it is possible to translate the saying from Confucius into Latin
it does not  matter how slowly you go... so long as you do not stop

many thanks

Answer
Hello,

“Nihil interest quam lente ambules…...dum ne consistas” is the translation you are looking for.

See below for grammatical analysis.

Best regards,
Maria
__________________________________________________________________________
Note that:

-It does not  matter = NIHIL ( negative adverb) INTEREST (impersonal verb)

-how = QUAM (conjunction introducing the subjunctive AMBULES in the indirect interrogative clause )

-slowly = LENTE

-you go = AMBULES (present subjunctive of AMBULO,1st.conjugation, I go, I walk).

-so long as = DUM (subordinate conjunction which takes the subjunctive CONSISTAS)

-you do not stop = NE ( negative form) CONSISTAS (present subjunctive of CONSISTO, 3rd.conjugation, I stop)
