Question
Hi! I was wondering what would be the latin translation of our school motto: Love Serves.

Thanks! :)

Answer
Hello,

as I think that the school motto “Love serves” refers  to the Christian idea of “love” just related to God, not to “love” in the sense of “desire”, “lust “, here’s its correct translation :

-“Caritas servit”.

________________________________________________
Note that:

-Love= CARITAS (nominative case, feminine noun, 3rd.declension)

-Serves= SERVIT (3rd.person singular, present indicative of SERVIO, I serve, I help)

Also, note that CARITAS means “love” in order to serve/help others, whereas AMOR means “love” as “affection”, “desire”, “lust”.
