Question
I know that "cogito ergo sum" means "I think, therefore I am."

But what about: "I think, therefore I'm single" ?
(single as in unmarried)   Caelebs sum ?

I can't quite sort it out by using the 10 Latin-to-English websites I found on the 'net.

Thank you for your expertise!

Answer
Hi,

This is a strange question, indeed!

Anyway you could say: ”Cogito, ergo nubilis sum” or with a different word order: "Cogito, ergo sum nubilis".

As for the Latin adjective ‘caelebs’, it refers only  to a male person, while the adjective ‘nubilis’ is related only to a female person and means just “unmarried, single, nubile”.
In fact, while in English “unmarried” and ‘single’ can refer to a male/female person, in Latin there are two different adjectives, i.e.CAELEBS for a male person and NUBILIS for a female person.

Have a nice day.
