Question
Hi, could you help our cricket club translate our new motto "win or lose we're on the booze" please. I suppose it could also bei "Victory or defeat, let's drink". Any chance of getting the Latin to rhyme as well?

We will give you a thanks and link on our website www.berlincc.de

Answer
Hi,

Here are the translations you asked me.
As for the rhyme, which however did not exist in Latin
(at least how we understand it), there is a kind of rhyme in the first translation.

“Win or lose we're on the booze" =
“Sive vincimus, sive vincimur, nos vino obruimus”

"Victory or defeat, let's drink” =
“Vel victores vel victi, bibamus tamen!”

Greetings from Italy and thanks for the link.

Maria

NB:
“Win or lose we're on the booze"

Win = SIVE VINCIMUS
or lose = SIVE VINCIMUR
we're on the booze = NOS VINO OBRUIMUS

"Victory or defeat, let's drink”

Victory = VEL VICTORES
or defeat = VEL VICTI
let's drink = BIBAMUS TAMEN
