Ancient Languages/Translation of family motto

Question
Hi Maria.

I hope you might help me with a translation of what appears to be my family's motto. I found it
inscribed on a gold ring along with the family
crest. The ring was amongst some of my great grandfathers things that had been misplaced by
my grandfather several years ago. The motto
appears to be "Certavi et Vici"

Thank-You

Answer
Hi Terrence,

glad to help you.

Your family's motto "Certavi et Vici" means:

"I have fought and conquered".

All the best,
Maria
