Question
Hi Maria, can you please convert "HE WHO CONQUERS ALL, MUST FIRST CONQUER HIMSELF" for me please, as i'm getting mixed answers from else where. Also, does the word "must" exist in latin.
Thankyou for your time, Aaron

Answer
Hello,

Here’s the translation you asked me:

“Qui omnia vincit, se ipsum vincere primum  debet”

(See below for grammatical analysis).
Best,
Maria
__________________________________________
GRAMMATICAL ANALYSIS.

-He who = QUI (relative pronoun in the nominative masculine singular)

-conquers = VINCIT (from VINCO, 3rd.conjugation)

-all = OMNIA (accusative neuter of OMNIS)

-must = DEBET (from DEBEO, 2nd.conjugation)

-first= PRIMUM (adverb)

-conquer= VINCERE

-himself = SE IPSUM (reflexive pronoun in the accusative masculine singular)

Latin word order can be different from English, as you can see.
