Question
I am in the Army and my unit has a Latin modo phrase that noone seems to know. It is "haec protegimus". I will be greatful to hear your response. Thank you.

Answer
Hello,

The Latin motto “Haec protegimus” literally  means:

“We protect (defend) these things”.

As I know that this sentence is the motto  of US Army Military District of Washington, Distinctive Unit Insignia(see below), I think that this phrase refers to protection this Unit must  assure to the area concerned.

Have a nice day.
