Question
can you translate from latin to english?  I have several questions or even if I can order a book but here is one; deus meumque jus and spes mea in deo est

Answer
Hello,

Here are the translations you need:

1-“God and my right” (Deus meumque ius)

2-“Spes mea in Deo est “ (My hope is in God).

See below for grammatical analysis.

Best regards and a Happy New Year.
Maria
_________________________________________
-DEUS (nominative, 2nd.declension) = God

-MEUMQUE ( nominative neuter of the possessive MEUS agreed with IUS plus the enclitic- QUE meaning ‘and ‘) = and my

IUS (nominative neuter, 3rd.declension) = right.
Please note that you must write “ius”, not “jus” as in Latin the ‘j’ did not exist.

-SPES ( nominative feminine, 5th.declension) = Hope

-MEA ( nominative feminine of MEUS agreed with SPES) = my

-IN (preposition which takes the ablative DEO) = in

-DEO (ablative of DEUS) = God

-EST ( from the verb SUM, I am) = is

As you can see, Latin word order is different from English.
