Andy Griffith - How many Cents a Ding

Expert: Joy - 7/29/2008

Question
What episode does Gomer explain "20 cents a ding" in? I believe "20 cents" is right but am not certain. Gomer is explaining how much the gasoline at the station costs to someone.

Answer
Hi Molly,

The episode is, "Man in a Hurry" Season 3, Episode 16 (original air date was January 14, 1963.

Gomer said the following:
"...water and air are free but we have to charge for the gas...dependin' on how many times the pump goes ding-ding. Thirty cents a ding."

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your interest.
