Question
Hey Dr. Levy, I was considering a career in anesthesiology. So I had a few simple questions. Sure I could have read something offline, but I think it is more meaningfull to come from an actull anesthesiologist. Ok Question one, how long does it actully take to become an anesthesiologist? How much money (estimate) for the education needed; from some almost top-notch schools? What courses do you need to take in high school and in college, and what courses would help prepare you for the real deal? Finnaly how much do you get paid , and is your job difficult?

Sincerely, Roland sophomore

Answer
It takes 8 years after college and can cost between $40,000 and over $100,000. In high school you should take science courses and in college you need to take the prerequisite courses for medical school. Salaries after graduation can range from $120,000 to over $400,000.
