I am a medical student and I was wondering what you think anesthesiology is going to be like in the next 10 - 15 years. Do you think residency programs will mandate an extra year of critical care making the residency 5 years instead of 4. Thank you for your time.

I can't predict the future but I exepct anesthesiology will continue to be a highly sought after specialty with good reimbursements. I don't think that critical care will be mandated as it is a board certified subspecialty already.
