Anesthesiology/Failed Intubation pain

Question
I had a failed trachea intubation for a laparoscopy. So the surgery was not performed. But the next day, I had a low grade fever (100 degrees) and my entire body hurt everywhere. I could barely move. What could cause the body pain, if I didn't actually have the surgery?

Answer
Hi Veronica
I suspect that your anaesthetist used a drug called suxamethonium to paralyse you for your intubation. This makes your muscles feel like they have been run over by a steam roller!
Not very nice but it is still necessary to use it sometimes, however seldom for non emergency surgery.
Kind regards
