Question
Hello, I have had 2 early 1st trimester miscarriages in the past year, one at 5 weeks and one at 7 weeks. I took many types of test that could be related to miscarriages and it came out that I had protein C deficiency. Since then my doctor put me on low dose aspirin daily, he says that once I get pregnant again I will need to start on Low Molecular Weight Heparin. Should I start Herparin prior to getting pregnant? Is this the correct way to be treated? Please comment.

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with pregnancy. This is outisde my area of expertise but my understanding is...
It appears to me that everyone has taken this seriously and they have found a problem which they are going to manage.
The problem should respond to the aspirin you are on (and this should help with the pregancy issues) but you need the heparin for your protection rather than that of your unborn child once you are preganant. So no you shouldn't start it prior to becoming pregnant.
Hope this helps
