Question
I had a colonoscopy & when i was discharged i started to see
light flashed when i looked left & i have a blur over my left eye in the day that moves with my eye movement i went to my eye doctor he thinks i need glasses. could it be from anesthesia?

Answer
Hi Larry
As long as you have had your eyes checked by a specialist then I am reassured. Symptoms like this should not be ignored as it is important to check for a condition called retinal detachment. However this is nothing to do with anaesthesia - it is merely an eye condition that can affect some people out of the blue.,
Now as to anaesthesia - the answer has to be this would be very very unlikely. However for colonoscopy you would have been unlikley to have general anaesthesia, sedation is much more likely. You would have been examined on your side and it is possible that some pressure was applied to your eye and this maybe having some resdual effect.
I hope this helps a bit and that things settle down.
Kind regards
