Anesthesiology/iv sedation

Question
I have to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy, I have never had any type of sedation before and I am more nervous about that than the actual procedure. I have PVC'S that I have been told are not harmful to me but I can't help but worry if the sedation used will make them worse. How safe is sedation? I am very nervous and anxious to say the least. Will I feel drugged or dizzy during or afterwards?

Answer
You have nothing to worry about. Sedation will not negatively affect your PVCs and it is very safe. You will likely not even remeber the procedure. You may feel a little groggy afterwards but it shouldn't last long.
