Question
Hi just want to first say thanks for providing a great service like this for people like me who are curious about becoming an Anesthesiologist. I just got my associate's degree in arts. I already enrolled at U of H as a business major, however I would like to go into the medical field and be a Anesthesiologist. I know you said previously that it doesn't matter what you major in as long as I do well on the mcat test. Do you think it would be beneficial for me to keep my current major and just take all science classes for my electives, or should I just switch majors? What medical schools do you recommend in Houston or surrounding areas? Sorry for the long question(s)...I just want to make sure that I'm making the right decisions.

Answer
As I said, you can major in anything you want but remember there are a lot of prerequisite courses that are needed to get into medical school including Calculus, Organic and inorganic chemistry (2 semesters each), Physics, Biology, etc. What you major in is your choice but you must meet the other requirements.
