AboutRonald Levy, M.D. Expertise Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. I am a board certified anesthesiologist who can answer all questions related to any type of Anesthesia with the exception of Pain Management.
Question I want to go to school for anesthesiology but I'm not sure what all I need to go to school for. I didn't finish high school but I got my GED and I'm currently going to school for MA. I've always been good at math and science but I know nothing about college. Can you tell me what all classes do I need in college and do I get a RN degree next?
Answer If you want to be an MD anesthesiologist, you do not need an RN. You need to finish a 4 yr college, then 4 yrs med school and then 4 yrs anesthesia training. Any college can tell you all the prerequisites that you need.
