Question
Could you please explain the difference between sedation and general anesthesia?  How do these effect the body differently?  Do both put you to sleep and/or slow the heart down?
Thanks,
Daniel

Answer
Conscious sedation means that you are sleepy but if aroused, you will respond. General anesthesia means that you are not arousable by painful stimuli. The heart rate may or may not be affected by either.
