Anesthesiology/College

Question
I am a junior in high school and I am highly considering a career in anesthesiology. I am having a hard time finding a school that would match this major. Do you recommend any schools that have great medical programs for anesthesiology?

Answer
You're having a hard time because Anesthesia is not a major, it is a subspecialty of medicine. In college you major in other subjects and try to get into medical school. After medical school, then you go to a residency to specialize. So for anesthesia you need 2 more yrs of high school, 4 yrs of college and 4 yrs of anesthesia training.
