Anesthesiology/adverse reaction to concious anesthesia

Question
I had a facet injection, was awake, yet felt little pain.  I have had three of these and each time I have a very bad reaction, lasting almost a month after the event.  The pain is lessened, yet I become lethargic, nauseous, nervous and as though I am not myself at all.  I struggle to complete anything and feel less aware of my wording to explain myself to others.  I lack confidence at this point and don't drive then.  I don't know what they use, haven't asked because I had not connected the dots until this last procedure.  Thanks

Answer
Usually in a facet injection they use local anesthesia (and/or steroids) and that should not casue the symptoms you describe. I would recommend going back to the anesthesiologist who did these procedures on you and explain the symptoms you are having. That way they will be able to work you up for this problem.
