Question
I would like to know if nitrous oxide is a respiratory depressant.
Also, would it be okay for me to take a tranxene 7.5 milligrams about an hour before having five teeth extracted if I am going to have nitrous oxide too?

Answer
Yes Nirtrous oxide is a respiratory depressant. If you are on Tranxene you should let your dentist know so he can adjust the dose of Nitrous. Generally if you are on something chronically, the effects aren't as great but the dentist still needs to be aware.
