Anesthesiology/Schooling?

Hello I am a sophomore in high school i have decided to become an anesthesiologist i am in a home school so i have been able to  get way ahead I'm almost graduating high school and have almost completed my G.E. I was just wondering what is the difference between G.E. and the four years of college before med school? also what is the course work for those four years? and do you recommend any universities in southern California?
