Question
Dear Dr Ian Jackson,
I'm currently a high school student in California and so far my GPA isnt as great as the average student should be - so joining a Cal state or Uc is far out of my reach at this moment. My question to you is, Does the College I attend to affect my chances into getting into a med school and if I transfer out by any chance to a Uc, will it only make my chances only better?

And doesn't the Gpa have to be at least 4.0+ to get into a med school from ANY college? ---ACCORDING to my teacher.

Thanks you for giving me your time to review my question.
          Sincerly,
                   Jake D.

Answer
I'm UK based and trained and so have no experience or knowledge of your system. Please look at the past answers of my American colleague Dr Levy as this is a common question. Feel free to ask Dr Levy directly if the past answers don't supply what you need.
