Question Daughter needs to be put to sleep for surgery , is it safe?
My 6 year old daughter is being placed to sleep for a tooth removal surgery. I have heard of stories of children dying while being placed to sleep ...is she to young for this? What are the risks? Does anyone in here have a daughter who has gone through this? or know of someone who has a daughter who has gone through this?i'm so scared, its driving me crazy
Answer Angie
My son also had to have anaesthesia for dental surgery when he was 8 - he like 99.99999% of children undergoing this procedure had no problems. We do a list in our hospital every week for children as young as your daughter having dental surgery.
There are always risks but we try hard to minimise these. Take a deep breath and trust the staff who are looking after you and your daughter.
